Beginning in 1927, Ernest Kornfeld acted as the Chief Steward, Trustee, and Executive Board Member of American Full-Fashioned Hosiery Workers, Branch 1. He also served as a National Representative of Industrial Union of Marine & Shipbuilding Workers of America. Later in his career, he was affiliated with the Retail Clerks International Union.
