This record group consists of various records held by the St. Clair County Board of County Auditors for the years 1915-1943. The record group includes: minutes of the Superintendent of the Poor (1925-1939); report of audits of the Emergency Welfare Relief Commission (1935-1939); record of inmates of the county infirmary (1915-1933) offering various personal and official information on the inmates; annual reports of the Superintendent of the Poor to the Board of Supervisors; correspondence with the University of Michigan Hospital relating to medical care of dependent ill persons (1926-1928); general correspondence relating to cases (1928-1929) involving the county poor boards, prosecuting attorneys and charitable organizations; and general records of the Civilian Conservation Corps with the county (1935-1942), including records of the County Emergency Welfare Relief Commission dealing with Corps applications for membership, discharges, correspondence and reports.
