Edwin recieved his paper and he will examine it shortly. He has been recieving alot of papers and can't accept them all. Edwin spoke to him about having a paper early in the year. Benjamin would like a short paper within the next two months and you will recieve $10.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901). He became a well-known reader of his own poems and lecturer of idealistic views, but his creative output for remainder of life ...
