Eureka, Calif., photographer and artist. Born in 1880 in Nebraska, Emma Belle Richart married Edwin R. Freeman in Colorado in 1901. In 1904 the couple moved to San Francisco, where they opened an art shop and Emma took drawing and painting lessons. Following the 1906 earthquake the Freemans relocated to Eureka, Calif., and they established the Freeman Art Company.
