Telling her they [Charles and Kate Dickens Collins] have arrived in Geneva but plan to leave as soon as possible because of the cold there; exhorting his mother to take care of her health; expressing shock and sorrow at [John] Leech's death; describing their journey through Strasbourg, Basle, Bern, and Lausanne, where they visited their friend Townshend; mentioning that he saw the first number of Wilkie Collins's new book; discussing his health and asking his mother to write to him at Cannes next.
