Igor Nicholas Asheshov (b. 1891) was a bacteriologist, specializing in bacterial viruses. He served at NYBG as Bacteriologist-in-Charge from 1948-1953 under William Jacob Robbins. His research was towards isolating and identifying bacteriophages in the search for substances to combat influenza and poliomyelitis.
