Constitution and scrapbook of the Women's Athletic Association, 1922 (bulk 1954-1956).

This Women's Athletic Association (WAA) collection contains the organization's constitution and scrapbook. The scrapbook holds newspaper clippings, an informational booklet, and an additional constitution. WAA formed in 1922 in response to many people's desire to expand female athletics at Gustavus Adolphus College. Membership was open to all females interested in participating in sports. In addition, WAA promoted physical activity and good sportsmanship. It is assumed that this association eventually became the Women's Recreational Association during the early 1960s.
