Letter from Alexander Leslie, Lord Lindores, to an official in the government war office; Lindores remarks on the death of Ensign Francks, as reported by Captain Marschall, who commanded two of Lindores's companies "at Emden"; Lindores recounts the abilities and accomplishments of a sergeant major in his regiment, "either a Prussian or Hannoverian", and recommends him to succeed Ensign Francks.
