Autograph letters signed from John Poole, Paris and London, to various recipients [manuscript], 1820-1830s.

Chiefly letters from John Poole to R.W. Elliston (at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane) and James Winston. Some letters undated. Most letters concern Poole's adaptations of French plays for the English stage. (3) acknowledges receipt of partial payment for Deaf as a post and indicates terms for additional remuneration and copyright being given to Mr. Elliston. (4) includes description of roles in Deaf as a post; (6) mentions costumes for Old and young. Several references to Clara Fisher. (23) is a letter from J. Teesdale to Elliston which concerns Poole's suit against Elliston for assault. (24) is a list of Poole's plays between 1813 and 1831. (25) is a notice of expulsion from the Garrick Club. (26) are notes and clippings about Poole.
