The core of this collection consists of an impressive group of autograph books, including virtually everyone involved with the San Francisco Opera in its early days. Also represented are people who were involved in the beginnings of the San Francisco Opera Ballet, the direct ancestor of today's San Francisco Ballet. Included are programs, clippings, photos, and posters.

Edna de Nunzio sang with the San Francisco Opera beginning in its very first season in 1923. She then became a protege of the famed soprano Gina Cigna and went on to sing in the major European opera houses.
