The letter concerns payment of $175 "in favor of Wm. Crawford of Georgetown." He goes on to say that he has "requested Mr. Moncure to remit to you the money in Richmond." In a postscript, Washington notes that he "shall be at Fairfax Court the 19th to qualify as Exec. of Gen. W.'s will." The letter is possibly to a Col. Sims of Alexandria, Virginia.
