This collection consists of legislative subject files (ca. 1966-1980) documenting the work Rep. H. Lynn Jondahl did on the Michigan Bottle Bill (House Bill 4296), which was originally introduced by Jondahl and passed in 1976. The files consist of articles, studies, hearings and background materials from other states dealing with the same issue. Materials on related issues, such as labeling and litter control, are also included. Active campaigns relating to the Bottle Bill, both pro and con, are documented. The collection is arranged alphabetically.

H. Lynn Jondahl was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, on July 10, 1936. He received his B.A. degree in history from the University of Iowa in 1958. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Yale University Divinity School in 1962, and was ordained a minister in the United Church of Christ and took up a post as campus pastor at California State College in Los Angeles.
