The Una Clarke Papers, 1983-2002 1992-2002

This collection consists of files containing Una Clarke's correspondence with different organizations and individuals. Some letters arranged in files by topics, some are arranged under the names of organizations they were addressed to or sent from. Some of the highlights of this sub-group are correspondence with different New York State and New York City agencies, correspondence with various National-American Associations, correspondence with foreign officials and organizations, and congratulatory notes from Una Clarke to different organizations on various occasions. Other documents include various papers of the City Council. Some of the files contain records concerning the New York City budget and the City Council involvement in its creation, additional documents include reports from different divisions of the City Council on a variety of topics, City Council staff listings and others. Additional material includes items relating to the different events that were planned by the "Friends of Una Clarke" or events that Ms.Clarke was invited to. These files contain invitations, programs and photographs. There are also newspaper and magazine articles that either focus on Una Clarke or were of interest to her. The remainder of the collection contains a range of memorabilia including: campaign materials, speeches, documents with autographs of famous entertainers and politicians as well as a collection of awards and other recognitions for her work in the community.
