Discussing her brother Branwell's death; explaining that her sorrow is due not to a "sense of bereavement" but to "the wreck of talent, the ruin of promise, the untimely, dreary extinction of what might have been a burning and shining light"; describing her father's response to the death of his only son; mentioning her own illness; lamenting that Branwell did not know before he died that his sisters were published authors.
