James N. Folks was born Oct. 19, 1897 at Hanover, Mich. He received a B.S. degree from Michigan State University. On Nov. 5, 1919, he married Jennie Strait. A farmer, he was active in local government and with community groups. He represented the 49th District from 1955 to 1972. While a state representative, he served as chairman of the House Taxation Committee. He now resides in Horton, Mich. He is the father of five children. From the description of James N.
