Persian Gulf War song collection [sound recording]. 1990-1991.

Scope: Primarily includes recorded songs culled from U.S. copyright deposits with themes related to the employment of American troops in the Persian Gulf after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq. These themes, both pro and con, include the evils of Saddam Hussein, freedom, American patriotism, and the revival of yellow ribbons as a symbol of hope for a safe return. No distinction has been made between the pre-war maneuvers known as Operation Desert Shield and the wartime maneuvers known as Operation Desert Storm in collecting these works. Additional titles when identified will be added to the collection.
