The Gander-Hite collection of Civil War Letters consists of letters by residents residents of Page County, Va. Letters were transcribed by permission of owners Mr. Jamie Gander of Page County, Mrs. Gladys M. Fahrney of Frederick, Md., Debbie Owens of the Page County Genealogy Society, Robert Sims of Middle Ground Institute, and Harlan R. Jessup of Newtown, Ct. The narrative of Bethany Veney, a slave woman in Page County, Va. was published in Worchester, Mass. in 1889. This collection contains a typescript of the narrative prepared by Debbie Owens and Robert Sims.
