The James E. and Elizabeth McCarthy Collection consists of one scrapbook and 18 loose photographs. The scrapbook contains photographs, maps, notes, postcards, magazine articles, jokes and ephemera relating to the McCarthys' years working for the Standard Oil Company and the Canol Project in Canada's Yukon. It includes Standard Oil Company employee identification cards and information provided to company employees on such matters as the clothing allotment and travel procedures, as well as two publications, "Oil to Alaska: Canol Unveiled" (1944?) and "Alaska Highway: A Saga of the North," revised edition (1943).
