Summary: Collection consists of administrative correspondence, circulars, bulletins, reports, handbooks, newsletters, press releases and other records of the CCC and federal and state coordinating agencies in New Mexico (1935-1942). Much of the material pertains to enrollment and camp assignments; other topics include administration of programs, camp anniversary celebrations, vocational education, budgets, camp disbandments and discharges. The bulk of the collection consists of an estimated 11,000 name cards of enrollees (DPW Form 684), with information on enrollee's birth date, family, camp assignments and discharge.

The Emergency Conservation Work Program was established by the federal government in 1933 to provide unemployment relief and vocational education; its name changed to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1937. The CCC operated 44 camps in New Mexico, under the jurisdiction of the New Mexico District headquartered in Ft. Bliss, Texas.
