Alfred G. Kuettner collection, 1902-1916.

The collection consists principally of the records maintained by Alfred Kuettner as secretary of the Steam and Operating Engineers Union, Local 329, of Atlanta, Georgia from 1902-1916. The records include financial and membership material, and correspondence (1910-1916) describing the Union's involvement in local and state labor affairs, the textile workers strike of 1914, and local and state political situations involving Senator Hoke Smith and Georgia Governor Joe Brown. The collection also contains a quantity of printed letters, minutes, and other documents from the International Steam and Operating Engineers Union (1910-1916); form letters of the American Federation of Labor (1913-1916); and Kuettner's personal papers (1902-1912).
