Henry Rootes Jackson collection, 1849-1915.

This collection is composed of 18 folders. Most of the information pertains to Jackson's death and the settlement of his estate. There are also letters to Jackson from his first wife, Cornelia Davenport Jackson, his son Henry Rootes Jackson, Jr., his daughter Mallery, and her husband Pope Barrow. Also included are three publications by Henry Rootes Jackson. They are AMERICAN LOYALTY, presented at the University of Georgia commencement, 1893; LETTER FROM HENRY ROOTES JACKSON TO EX-SENATOR ALLEN G. THURMAN, discussing the South and the Confederacy; sheet music "The Old Red Hills of Georgia," words by Jackson. Photographs are in collection VM 2136.
