Collection contains two communications to Lady H'se, one of them being a letter from Eyre to her. He writes that the book in which this letter came laid, went through Martinique with him and from it came the Creole melodies he used in that play. The third item is a quotation from Martinique. Another play of his, Sazus Matazus, was the first full-length play to deal entirely with African-American life.
