Summary: Collection consists of materials assembled and arranged by designer/architect Alexander H. Girard (1907-1994) and his wife, Susan Needham Girard (19?-1996), in conjunction with their composition of the Girard Foundation collection of folk art. The collection of folk art was donated to the Museum of International Folk Art, Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1978; the ephemera collection followed in 1996. These boxes, all hand- decorated and labelled under the direction of Alexander Girard, contain clippings, booklets, postal cards, notes, correspondence, and invoices relating to objects in the Girard Foundation folk art collection.
