Charles J. Boyd collection, 1908-1970.

Summary: Collection consists of the military order and exhibition handbills for the 1919 flight of the NC-4; Boyd's plane design patents; two scrapbooks on the development of the aviation industry in New Mexico (1908-1970) and Texas (1938-1940); two photograph albums: one of Boyd's military career (ca. 1918-1920's) and the other of aviation and personnel (1918-1961); and Boyd's appointment to the New Mexico Aeronautics Commission from Governor of New Mexico John J. Dempsey. Photograph albums contain photographs of the NC-4, other Curtiss planes, and New Mexico places. Also included is a U.S. flag with 48 stars.
