Register of interest stock of 1857 issued, 1857-1859.

Register consists of descriptions of interest coupons and certificates surrendered for interest stock . Included are serial numbers and dates of issue of surrendered certificates, serial numbers of interest stock certificates issued for them, values of new certificates, names of individuals to whom issued and dates certificates registered. Surrendered certificates and coupons included Illinois and Michigan Canal scrip, canal interest certificates and interest coupons from Illinois and Michigan Canal bonds and new internal improvement stock of 1847. Also included are undated indications that new certificates were later refunded or redeemed by state.
