Born at Wallkill, New York, son of Ephraim Everett and Deborah Corwin. LDS baptism in the New York Branch of the Church, 1837; work as a policeman in New York and later in Nauvoo; bishop in Nauvoo and Winter Quarters; marriage to Orpha Marie Redfield; arrival in Salt Lake Valley, 1847; settlement in St. George.
