Letter, 1877.

Handwritten letter dated 3 Aug. 1877 and addressed to "dear Dixon." At the time, Gordon was serving as governor the Equatorial provinces of Central Africa, the Sudan, and Egypt and was actively engaged in military actions to suppress the slave trade. He outlines his plans for dealing with the forces of the those dealing in slaves.
