Administrative records and student complaints, 1973-1989.

This series contains the records of Thomas Winston Cole, Sr., Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Florida from 1973 to 1990. Cole also served as University Ombudsman during much of his tenure. Included in the series are accreditation records and self-study materials. Much of the series consists of academic complaints and grievances filed by students with the Ombudsman. Use of this portion of the series is restricted. Cole was also involved in the University's affirmative action program. In this regard, there are several files related to African- American faculty and faculty organizations.

The original campus plans for the University of Florida at Gainesville were developed by the firm of Edwards & Walter.
