Centennial collection, 1945-1955.

The bulk of the collection consists of planning materials and examples of public informational materials. Also included are correspondence relating to planning and events, a file of letters and reviews from the 1946 publication of Wayland F. Dunaway's History of the Pennsylvania State College, minutes of meetings of various planning committees, and two scrapbooks of clippings.

The Pennsylvania Humanities Council designated the year 1985 as "The Year of the Pennsylvania Writer." The PHC funded projects in eight locations throughout the Commonwealth to gain appreciation, understanding, and recognition for past and present Pennsylvania writers. The State College/University Park location held a two-stage conference and related events by five Centre County regional organizations. Dunaway, Wayland Fuller, 1875-1956

Wayland Fuller Dunaway joined Penn State history faculty in 1920, became full professor of American history in 1926, and continued in this position until his retirement in 1944.
