Idaho pioneer. Son of Col. Benjamin L. Beall, career army officer and commander of the Dept. of the Columbia at the onset of the Civil War, Thomas B. Beall was employed in the 1850's as an army wagon master at Fort Tejon, Calif., and in Washington, where he participated in Col. Steptoe's 1858 expedition across the Snake River.
