The Army Air Forces War Adjustment Course was established in 1944 at several locations in the U.S., one of which was Harvard Business School. Buddy Boudreaux was born in Donaldsonville, La., on December 27, 1917, to Edward Boudreaux Sr. and Rena Landry Boudreaux. He attended public grammar and high schools in Baton Rouge, La. Boudreaux served in the U.S. Army Air Corps between 1943 and 1945, playing in a seven-piece jazz ensemble at officers' clubs, USO shows, and other venues in North Africa and Italy.
