Contains the papers of several members of the Baylor family of Caroline County, Va. Items in the collection include letterbooks, 1749- 1765, containing tobacco plantation accounts of John Baylor (1705-1772) of "Newmarket," Caroline County, Va.; plats, 1737-1754, for land in Caroline and Spotsylvania County, Va.; and medical records, 1861-1865, kept by Warner Lewis Baylor (1825-1894) while serving as a surgeon in the Confederate States Hospital in Petersburg, Va.
