Entries for each elected or appointed county official include: name; title; county in which office held; and commission date. Occasionally included are election and bond filing dates; bond amount; names or sureties on bond; and remarks (e.g., residence; term expiration date). Officials generally included are recorders of deeds, treasurers, county clerks, circuit clerks, sheriffs, surveyors, state's attorneys, coroners, county judges, associate judges, probate judges, probate clerks, school commissioners, superintendents of schools, commissioners, public administrators and occasionally,notaries public.

Board contracted for and negotiated all loans authorized by General Assembly for internal improvements and signed and executed all bonds or stock certificates issued for such loans.
