Letters, 1920 Nov. 2 and 16, Terre Haute, Ind., to [Louis Untermeyer, New York?]

Sends holograph letters from E. V. Debs written while in the federal penitentiary at Atlanta, Georgia. The enclosure with the Nov. 2 letter (note to "My dear Comrade" [i.e., M. D. Curry] ([n.d.], [2] p. on 1 leaf)) asks her to convey his appreciation to Untermeyer for his poem honoring him which was published in The liberator. The enclosure with the Nov. 16 letter is a note to [Curry] ([n.d.], [2] p. on 1 leaf) acknowledging the gift of a book of poems [i.e., A miscellany of American poetry, 1920. New York: Harcourt, Brace and Howe, 1920] which includes Untermeyer's The garland for Debs, and requesting that she send his enclosed letter to Untermeyer (1920 Nov. 10, [3] p. on 1 leaf) in which he thanks him again for the poem in The liberator and praises his poem "Caliban in the Coal Mines."
