Chiefly the papers of Ruth May Kersey, a missionary nurse in Nigeria for the Southern Baptist Convention, and her brother Roy Wilfred Kersey, an insurance agent in Richmond, Va. Also, include papers of their brother and sister. Ruth May Kersey's papers include correspondence concerning legal permission to serve as a nurse at the Baptist Mission Hospital in Ogbomosho, Nigeria, an account book and receipts concerning her health and last illnesses, a photographic scrapbook concerning the First Baptist Church of Lisbon, Portugal, U.S. passports, and photographs of Ruth May Kersey and Nigerians. Roy Wilfred Kersey's papers include a letter, 1958, to Kersey from Cornell Goerner of the Southern Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board commending the life and work of Ruth May Kersey.
