Papers of Launcelot Minor Blackford, 1832-1865.

The papers include: Civil War letters from Blackford to his parents while at the Military School at the University of Virginia, 1861; while in Poague's Rockbridge Artillery, 1861-1863; and as a clerk in the Confederate Military Court, 1863-1865; a letter, 1863 March 30, from William T. Poague, formalizing Blackford's discharge from the Rockbridge Artillery; letters, 1859-1864, to Blackford from his father, William Blackford. Also included is a notebook, 1832, containing Mary Berkeley Minor Blackford's essay, Notes Illustrative of the Wrongs of Slavery.
