Herbert Hoover letter, Washington, D.C., to Henry D. Sharpe, Providence, R.I., 1929 May 27.

Thanks Sharpe for his letter of 24 May, and was glad to send him "the inscribed copy of the Agricola", i.e. the Hoovers' translation of De re metallica, by Georg Agricola, published in 1912.

Herbert Clark Hoover (b. August 10, 1874, Iowa-d. October 20, 1964), thirty-first president of the United States, was born in Iowa, and was orphaned as a child.
