Brenan lived and wrote extensively on Andalusia, Spain; he also wrote a biography of St. John of the Cross (1973). -- Lynda Price was a longtime companion of Gerald Brenan; she married Lars Pranger. Lynda used the surname Nicholson in her published works including her translation of the poems of St. John of the Cross into English that were used for the Brenan biography on the poet.
