The accession consists of five black and white photographic prints which measure 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches labelled as follows in the hand of SIO graduate student Horace MacPherson Buley: "Mytilus Californianus," "Taking Mussels from the Scripps Institution Pier, February 19, 1928," "Taking Mussels from the Scripps Institution Pier, February 19, 1928," "Plankton net and 25-liter cask used on Scripps Institution Pier," "Dr. Parker Davies Trask and his mud sampler. On board SCRIPPS at San Diego Bay, February 24, 1928". Wayland Vaughan dated March 5, 1928. The photographs were enclosed in a letter from Buley to SIO Director Thomas Wayland Vaughan dated March 5, 1928.
