The collection consists of a daguerreotype of Schley and his wife which is historically important, particularly because of its unique photographic technique. In addition, there are two letters to Dr. William K. Schley of Columbus, from E. B. Hook, dated 1852, and a bank draft signed to him by Joseph Clarke of Columbus, Georgia.
