Incorporated in 1897 under the laws of Washington State, the company operated a line between Vancouver and Yacolt (Wash.). It purchased the Vancouver, Klickitat and Yakima Railroad Company in 1897, but all capital stock was owned by the Northwestern Improvement Company.
