Founded in 1863 by C.N. Parker, the foundry was incorporated subsequently in 1883 under the laws of the state of Minnesota. The St. Paul, Minneapolis and Manitoba Railway Company made advances to the foundry and eventually received stock in it. The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
