Letterpress books, 1884-1912.

Outgoing letters of Minnesota department commanders, assistant adjutant generals, and recorders. Much is directed to Minnesota GAR posts, and concerns clerical discrepancies on their adjutant and quartermaster reports. Other letters discuss muster fees, charter fees, transfer and suspension of members, per capita taxes, and suggestions on naming of posts and welcoming of new members. Letters concerning fund-raising for the U. S. Grant Monument Fund and arrangements for visits to posts by state GAR officials also appear.
