The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. Northland Transportation Company (Minn.).

The company was incorporated in 1924 to operate bus lines acquired by a sibling corporation, the Northland Transportation Company (Delaware). It operated those northern Minnesota routes--while acquiring other lines in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Dakotas--until 1934, when it was merged into the Northland Greyhound Lines, Inc. of Illinois.
