The company was incorporated in January 1917 to build or acquire terminal and transfer facilities to serve GN interests in the northeastern area of downtown St. Paul. By 1918 it built and was operating a freight house at Eighth and Pine streets and 3.32 miles of terminal trackage linking it with GN trackage. The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
