The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. Brandon, Saskatchewan, and Hudson's Bay Railway Company

The company was incorporated by the Canadian Parliament in 1903 and built a railway line from Brandon south to the international boundary (70 miles).
