Newspaper clippings, military correspondence, letters of affection, and short stories of Ethel W. Sly McCart. War correspondence, diaries, and photographs documenting her career in the U.S. Marine Reserve as a corporal during the first World War. The bulk of the McCart collection comprises William McCart's papers: high school exam papers, his participation in athletics, war correspondence, address booklets, newspaper clippings, and a journal of his and Ethel's mining endeavors. After Ethel died William joined a lovelorn club and saved much correspondence dating from 1957-1968.
