Early California Theater Promptbooks ca. 1877.

Each of these seven promptbooks contains an act from one of three plays from the late 19th Century. They include Acts 1-3 of Our American Cousin by Tom Taylor, (HM 70516-70518), Acts 2-3 of Our Boys by Henry James Byron, (HM 70514-70515), and Acts 2-3 of The Bells by Leopold Lewis, (HM 70512-70513). They were collected by Barton Hill, a British -born actor active in American theater in the 1860s.
