Consisting chiefly of material documenting Lipscomb's tenure as a professor of chemistry at Clemson University, 1912-1919, and the University of South Carolina, 1919-1949. Includes chemistry articles authored and/or co- authored by Lipscomb and his students; correspondence, 1925-1927, re his attempts to secure a patent for his method of catalytic oxidation; and articles re chemical warfare published during World War I era; and memorial tribute, c. Feb. 1931, to Dr. William B. Burney, U.S.C. professor of chemistry. Also includes correspondence and miscellaneous items re the U.S.C. Faculty Advisory Committee, 1940-1946, on which Lipscomb served and which was charged with consideration of faculty salary adjustment and promotions, department travel expenses, and insurance/annuity/retirement plans, including letters of U.S.C. faculty members Havilah Babcock, Francis W.
