George McCrary family papers, 1877-1921.

McCrary was a member of the U.S. Congress, Missouri State Senate, Secretary of war in 1877-79, and U.S. Circuit Judge of the 8th Judicial Circuit in 1879. Papers include memorial scrapbook to McCrary and selected correspondence. Aslo included are papers of McCrary's son, Frank E. McCrary, clerk of the Circuit Court, Eastern District of Missouri, and clerk for Milwaukee Division of the Pacific and Department of California, including a scrapbook on various topics focusing on juveniles, crime, the McCune Home and penal system in general.
